Oil Seals seals usually include a garter spring to help align the lip against the shaft in equipment with rotary movement. Single and double case designs are standard, with single, double and triple lip configurations with or without springs available from stock.
The lip seals are made of a compound of one or more basic elastomers and a series of ingredients such as reinforcing fillets, plasticisers, antioxidants, accelerators, etc. which provide the product with specific properties.
Compound formulations are aimed at providing the material with the following properties:
- Stability at operating temperatures
- High elasticity modulus
- Wear resistance
- Low friction coefficient
