Commonly known as NITRILE or BUNA-N

Nitrile rubber is the sealing material most frequently used in Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems because of its excellent resistance to mineral oil based fluids, greases, water, hydrocarbon fules. It has good physical characteristics such as abrasion resistance and good compression set.

NBR is not suitable to Aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, automotivebrakes fluids, and some fire resistant hydraulic fluids.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -30°C to +140°C

HNBR has good heat resistance, oil resistance & resistance to number of aggressive chemicals. The material exhibits high mechanical strength and improved abrasion resistance. It also has superior resistance to weathering, ozone and hot air and very good resistance to technical oils, even in the presence of hydrogen sulphide and amines.

VT4/b

OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -40°C to +220°C

FPM Rubber is commonly known by DU PONT trade name Viton®. The main  characteristics of FPM is they are resistance to high temperatures & their chemical stability. They also display minimal weight loss in high vaccum & also its permeability to gases is low.

Viton® is compatible to fire resistant Hydraulic fluids, hot oils, greases, hydrocarbon, chlorinated hydrocarbons most organic acids, even at high  concentrations and a number of organic compounds. It has excellent resistance to hot water and to steam.

FPM however  is not resistant to methanol, keytones, esters and ethers.

SL4/b

SL5/b

SL6/b

OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -70°C to +200°C

SILICON Rubber is characterised by high thermal resistance, good cold flexibility, good dielectric properties, very good resistance to oxygen and ozone attack. The main advantage is that it retains flexibility at very low temperatures and can  withstand continues heating without hardening, making it suitable for low and high temperature applications.

SILICON compounds have poor strength and tear resistance. Their resistance to oils and fuels is poor and also concentrated acids and alkalis, water and steam at  temperatures over 100° C

  • CHLOROBUTADINE RUBBER (CR)

CR 90°/95° SHORE 'A'

NP4/b

NP5/b

NP6/b

  OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -20°C to +100°C

CR is commonly known as NEOPRENE Rubber.

CR  based compounds are characterised by excellent resistance to chemicals, to ageing, to weathering effects, and to ozone attack. Its resistance to swelling in mineral oils, greases and water is moderate.

CR compound are not resistant to aromatic compounds such as benzene, toulene,  chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, ethers and ketons.

EP5/b

EP6/b

OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -40°C to +120°C

EPDM  elastomer have very good resistance to ozone, ageing and weathering. Hence they are best suited for extruded profile sections and sealing strips. They have good resistance to swelling in hot water, steam, washing liquids, oxidising media, acids, bases, polar organic media, ketones, fire retardant hydraulic fluids& hydraulic brakes fluids.

EPDM is not suitable for use in mineral based oils or hydrocarbons, but in non-mineral automotive brake fluids and phosphate esters the swelling is  minimal.

BU5/b

BU6/b

OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -40°C to +120°C

IIR elastomers permeability to gases and water vapour. It has low and good  electrical insulation properties. They have good resistance to brake fluids based on glycol, organic and inorganic acids and bases, hot water and steam upto 120° C.They have very good resistance to weathering and ageing.

ButylRubber is not suitable for use with mineral based oils and aromatic solvents.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -30°C to +80°C

NATURAL Rubber exhibits high mechanical strengthand elasticity with very good low temperature characteristics. Because of its high mechanical strength, NR is frequently combined with fabric reinforcement for seals in applications where water is the hydraulic fluid. It has good resistance to acid and bases at low concentrations as well as alcohols.

NR is not resistant to mineral oils and greases, fire resistant hydraulic fluids, aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated hydrocarbons

  OPERATING TEMPERATURE:- -10°C to +125°C

The properties  of POLYACRYLIC Rubber are midway between nitrile and fluorocarbon rubber. They have excellent resistance to mineral oils, hypoid oils and greases upto 125°C. They are resistant to ageing & flex cracking.

ACM is characterised by poor mechanical strength and resistant to water is poor.

For seals which are subjected to high pressure are impregnated by cotton fabric for improved extrusion resistance. The  fabric structure forms micro lubricating pockets, resulting in lower friction values; thus helping to reduce wear. The fabric are coated with unvulcanised rubber solutions of NBR & FPM depending on the application of the seal.
